We’re Jill Marie and David Scruggs, the wife-husband team behind One Soul Photography.
We’re unique in that we’re full-time, professional photographers working together fluidly in our studio sessions with clients. We collaborate on concepts and inspire each other’s creativity as we take turns behind the camera and assisting with lighting and composition.
We’ve been working this way since 2018, first on-location, then from a home studio, next from a small space overlooking Marietta Square, and now to our current 3,000 square foot studio in Kennesaw.
In our Kennesaw digs, we’ve designed a dynamic space for traditional and creative studio projects for individuals, couples, adult families, business owners and their teams. Our studio is even large enough to incorporate a classic or exotic car or show bike into the session.

We’re here to create portraits that capture your essence the way you’d like it presented. Our commissioned work for you begins with a conversation to create a shared understanding about your goals and our creative process.
This beginning is true regardless of the type of session and portraiture request that we’re undertaking with you.
We’ll talk about wardrobe, how to prepare for your session, and wall art and album options for your finished portraits.
Our short-term calendar stays pretty full, so planning ahead gives you the most options for your day with us. Even so, we’ll do our best to address short-turnaround needs, if required.
If we’re providing professional hair and makeup, your session will start with some attention from a member of our beauty team.
When it’s time to create art together, we’ll show you to our portrait walls, we’ll explain the instructional terms that you’ll be hearing, and we’ll expertly position you from nose to toes for each portrait that we capture so they reflect you at your best.
At our initial meeting, you’ll choose whether to you want to view your portraits the same day as your session, or, if time constraints will be a consideration, you can choose to schedule your viewing and ordering appointment for a few days after your session.
Either way, this is where you’ll see your portraits for the first time, and you’ll decide on the ones you want as beautiful wall art for your home or for inclusion in one of the stunning, handcrafted Italian albums that we offer.
When your ordered artwork and/or album arrives from Italy, we’ll inspect it to insure it’s made the journey safely, and then we’ll contact you to arrange delivery.
